This Denim Crochet Set is handcrafted using denim yarn made from reclaimed Carhartt and Dickies jeans. The garments began as Grade C/D pieces—items considered unusable in their original form—yet they provide ideal material for creating forward-thinking, sustainable designs. Each pair of jeans was cut into strips, sewn together and transformed into a durable denim fibre before being crocheted entirely by hand. Because of the density of the material and techniques used, the finished set has a substantial, weighty feel.
Original features from the jeans—pockets, waistbands, belt loops and seams—are thoughtfully repurposed as structural and decorative details, giving the piece its sculptural, textural character. This method also results in less than 5% waste per garment, significantly reducing fabric disposal and supporting a more environmentally conscious, circular approach to fashion.
Created as a 1-of-1 in collaboration with Roughcut Official, the set was crafted within his studio using his materials and workspace. It stands as a bold expression of sustainable craftsmanship, giving discarded clothing a second life and embodying the direction modern fashion is moving toward.
